Wildlife Rehab Centre
support local wildlife rehabilitation

During your stay with us you could visit Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, a sanctuary established in 1991 with a mission to rehabilitate injured and orphaned animals, striving to return them to their natural habitats whenever possible. For those unable to be released, Moholoholo becomes their permanent home, where they receive lifelong care and support.

Visitors to the Centre are afforded a unique opportunity to observe these remarkable creatures up close. Through guided tours, their dedicated staff offer insights into the challenges facing wildlife and the vital work of conservation and habitat protection. On average, they host 1,000 school children and adults each month, educating them about wildlife conservation and the importance of preserving natural habitats.

Moholoholo pride themselves in responding to calls for rescue, often saving wildlife that are in a bad state due to abandonment, injury or poisoning. Vulture poisoning has quickly become a big issue in South Africa and Moholoholo is one of the facilities at the forefront of treating and rehabilitating vultures who have fallen victim to this terrible form of poaching. They absorb the costs of the animals care, demonstrating that with proper treatment, these animals can recover and thrive once again.

Join them on a tour, offered Monday through Saturday, where you can witness firsthand the incredible work being done to protect and rehabilitate South Africa's precious wildlife. Book your experience today and be a part of Moholoholo's conservation journey.
